Washington DC: A Tour Around Our Nations Capital

Hello, Hello my favorite people! This is my third blog post about our Nation's Capital and I am sharing all new places with y'all. I love experiencing new hotels, restaurants, activities, etc. for you all to use as a guide for your next trip! We took Stacia and I took The ROX from Virginia Beach up to Washington DC. The ROX is a luxury motor coach that has completely reimagined travel. They offer complimentary meals from TASTE, fast and free WIFI, and the most friendly staff. It was so convenient to be able to work and enjoy ourselves on the ride up! Book your ride on the ROX, HERE!

We stayed at the Washington Hilton for the weekend and it was flawless, sophisticated, and SO boujee! Right next to Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan, and easily walkable to the main attractions in DC -- The Monument, Lincoln Memorial, The National Mall, The White House, etc. Our suite was beautiful and so spacious with a full kitchen and living room! One afternoon, we visited their seasonal outdoor pool deck. It has a beautiful skyline view of the city with fire pits and a kids pool. They are also pet friendly, have plenty of indoor dining options, a coffee bar/cafe, a beautiful outdoor seating area, business centers, meetings rooms, and a full access fitness center! When in DC, book a stay at the Washington Hilton, HERE!

We also popped into Sidecar on the first night -- a restaurant and bar inside of the Washington Hilton. We grabbed a late night snack, chips with guac and pico, and a few rounds of their delicious Sangria! Perfect way to end the night!

Cafe Georgetown

If you've been curious about all of the magical coffee designs and mouthwatering pastries on my feed, yes... its Cafe Georgetown! Stacia and I were completely blown away by their talent, creativity, and passion for their cafe! They even one "Best shop in DC" in 2020. They also sell wine, sandwiches, and are often used as an event space! They offer seasonal menus from gluten-friendly pastries, custom Cafe Georgetown savory items, and so much more! Stop by for a latte and tasty treat next time you're in DC!

A women owned, personalized, luxury picnics and event decor company -- Pink Magnolia Picnics! We had a delicious charcuterie board, fall foliage decor, and a beautiful view of The Monument for our girls day in DC! Maria and Fernanda are the heart and soul behind this small business, and they were a delight to work with. Pink Magnolia Picnics offer all types of special occassions such as baby showers, bridal showers, birthdays, anniversaries, date nights, proposals, and so much more! They serve the DMV area and are always flexible with your location of choice in the city (or outside of DC!). Check them out for your next occasion in Washington DC.

Mission Dupont

Mission Dupont was definitely a weekend hotspot in Dupont Circle! They have an incredible food menu along with BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH -- 90 minutes of mission margaritas, mimosas, bud lights, and bloody mary's for only $26.99! Stacia and I got the chips and queso for an appetizer (the BEST I have ever had, hands down), brunch tacos, and a delicious southwest breakfast bowl. Mission Dupont has all the Tex-Mex favs and is known for their spacious patio, daily happy hour, and of course the weekend brunch.

After brunch we did a little exploring, sightseeing, and shooting (of course!). Dupont Circle is a popular residential area with lively dining, nightlife, coffee shops, bookstores, boutiques, dive bars, eateries, and dance clubs! This area in Washington DC offers a little something for everyone -- it's a must see!

We took a stroll down to see the White House -- it had been YEARS since i've seen it and Stacia never had! This was such a cool experience and it wasn't too crowded down there for a Saturday. We took some photos, explored around the circle a bit, and popped into a few shops to look around. If you're interested in seeing the White House on your next trip to DC, it is located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW.

This weekend in Washington DC, we utilized our Free2Move app to make transportation much more convenient! Free2Move is the newest car-sharing fleet in the city. You download the free app, find a vehicle closest to you, book it, and that's it! Parking is free in the necessary parking destinations. Free2Move was perfect for our day sightseeing to get from one place to another stress-free. Use code "AMBER" to get $40 in the app.

Ala Dupont

Ala is a tapas bar and restaurant located in Dupont as well. It's an elegant Levantine cuisine with mezze from the southeast corner of the Mediterranean -- YUM! We have hummus, Duck, Lamb Chop, Couscous, Mediterranean pear salad, Rose infused Ice Cream, unique cocktail specials, and lots of delicious bread. The atmosphere is so relaxing and family friendly at Ala! We tried so many unique foods, had the best hospitality, and felt completely cultured by the end of the night lol! I highly recommend making this a priority on your next trip, they are located at 1320 19th St. NW!

The next morning, we wrapped up some content at the Washington Hilton, and headed out back to Virginia Beach on the ROX! This trip was filled with luxury, delicious eateries, sightseeing, and LOTS of photos lol! I hope this travel guide helps you create the perfect itinerary for your next trip to our Nations Capital! Until next time...
