Girls Weekend at Capitol Hill!

Our girl's weekend was MUCH NEEDED in Washington D.C.! We get so caught up in our busy everyday lives that we forget how thankful we truly are for one another. I can't wait to share all of our top favs of the weekend!

Washington Hilton Capitol Hill

We stayed at the ever so gorgeous, Washington Hilton on Capitol Hill! It is just a few blocks from Washington Union Station and the United States Capitol with iconic museums, monuments, and parks are just a few minutes away. We were pleasantly surprised to be set up in the beautiful presidential suite -- a living room, kitchen and bar top, dining room table, two rooms, and 3 bathrooms! IT WAS FLAWLESS! Not to mention, the glorious view of the Capitol right outside of our window. The pictures don't even do it justice. We unpacked, munched on some Papa Johns pizza, and got ready for our first night in DC! We went to a nearby restaurants, got some drinks and apps, and celebrated our time together -- nights like this are the best nights!

The Hilton Capitol Hill has four on-site restaurants for breakfast, casual lunch, relaxing dinner or evening cocktails! They also has a full service fitness center, meeting rooms for events, and they are pet-friendly! Our experience at The Hilton Capitol Hill was nothing less than perfect. They were so welcoming the second we arrived, helped us with our luggage and valet, and their customer service is top notch. If you're looking to visit Washington D.C., I highly recommend the Washington Hilton on Capitol Hill!

Philz Coffee: If you're a coffee guru like all of us are, Philz coffee is a MUST! Seriously y'all, some of the best coffee I have ever had... hands down. Some of our favorite menu items were the Mission Cold Brew and the Cold Brew with Rose Cream. Mariah and I may or may not have lied about how long the walk was to get there lol.... but it was worth every step....and we may or may not have ordered it the following morning, HAHA! THE BEST COFFEE IN TOWN! Our "Babes Support Babes" t-shirts are from a local boutique in Virginia Beach -- Lola Boutique!

The Cherry Blossoms:

We took a morning stroll by the Cherry Blossoms and had an obligatory photoshoot (of course lol!). They were several paths of beautiful flower arrangements and landscapes nearby. We also made a stop in front of Capitol Hill! Washington DC has photogenic scenery almost anywhere you go -- especially in the spring!

Belga Cafe:

WOW! Belga Cafe was beyond delicious with the most vibrant atmosphere. It's concept is by Belgium native and award-winning Chef, Bart Vandaele (Vandaele was a contestant on season 10 of Bravo’s “Top Chef”). They are known for their authentic cuisine, extensive craft beers, and Genevers. We tried a few of their specialty cocktails off of the cocktail cart and highly recommended dishes: The Cowboy Hash-brown Skillet, The Coddled Egg, and The Frisee Salad! Belga Cafe is a must when stopping by Capitol Hill.

@sarahprabhakarphotography:

Saturday afternoon, we met the beautiful @sarahprabhakarphotography for a photoshoot in Dupont Circle! We were wearing our beautiful Petal and Pup dresses to give all the spring vibes! We can't wait to share these photos with y'all soon. Thank you, Sarah, for helping us document our girls getaway weekend.

The Federal City Bar and Lounge:

After our photoshoot on Saturday night, we popped into the Federal City Bar located in our hotel, The Hilton Capitol Hill! Chef Orlando is MAGIC in the kitchen and he knew these girls could eat (and drink lol!). This was their first weekend back open and boy were they happy to get back to it! We started off with margaritas, mojitos and went all out with these specialty dishes: Quick Smoked Burrata, Ginger Soy Wings, Tijuana Street Fries, Maryland Crab Roll, Dry Rubbed Buckhead Steak Salad, and Adobo Chicken Sandwich! Then we ended with the Blueberry Financier, Cheesecake in a Jar, and Ginger Chocolate Pot Dr Creme! This "bar food" was the most magical bar food I have ever laid my eyes on. If you're searching for a social, engaging, and lively entertaining night, this is the lounge for you!

Due to COVID-19, a lot of the attractions in Washington DC are currently closed. Luckily, we all have already been to DC before so we weren't too bothered by it. However, if it is your first time to The District, here is a list of "must do's": The White House, Lincoln Memorial, The Smithsonian Museums, The Monument, The National Mall, The Memorials, and so much more! Check out their website for more information on what to do, what is open, and how to go about booking tours, HERE!

In case you missed my stories throughout the weekend, I saved all of them to my highlight reel! It is titled "Washington DC" where you can get a first-hand look at all of our stops on our girls weekend! This weekend, most of my looks are from Nanamacs! You can use code "ambermiller920" for a discount on their website.

Until next time, DC!
